Anaphora Song Analysis

The song "Untitled" by Simple Pane uses the repetitive term Anaphora. Anaphora is when the same word(s) is used at the beginning of each consectutive sentence. In "Untitled" the words "I Can't" is used in 3 consectutive lines. The repetitiveness in the lyrics show how the writer can't seem to do anything. He "can't stand the pain" and "can't make it go away." The lines show enhances the depression in the writer and how he can't do anything and how he is hurt. Without the repetitive "Can't" the song would not have the same remorse feeling the listerner has for the writer. The lyrics enhance the writers message of sadness.
